Its always great to get advice from someone that’s been through the
wedding planning process. Every once in awhile I ask a previous bride to give her thoughts and experience as she tries to get
everything right for the day she walks down the aisle to meet her prince.
Sometimes its not a easy task, but it’s also exciting and all the happy
moments anticipating how the day will go!
The bride is Kellie Alard, From Brandon, MB. Chad and Kellie’s wedding ceremony and photos were outside at Asessippi Resort and Ski hill
near Russell MB, their reception in the hall in Russell.
Their bridal party consisted of 20 awesome guys and gals, including their cute little son Gab.
It was the hottest day of 2015, unbearable heat and humility. Their theme was a ” black and white wedding” , it was gorgeous!!
Poor Chad ended up getting a really bad case of heat stroke. He barely made it through the supper and 1s dance, we managed a few photos with Kellie’s grandpa’s 100 year old Model T car before he had to leave.
He spent the rest of the night laying down at his motel room at
the Russell Inn.
It can be hard staying hydrated with everything going on during your wedding day but very important.
Thank you for being a guest blogger for us Kellie!
Chad & I went swimming at Good Spirit beach. He was sitting on the sand as I came out of the water. He asked me to look over at some cabin. When I looked back he was on one knee with music playing in the background. It was jay-z & Beyoncé Bonnie and Clyde. A verse says all I need is you. On his knee Chad pulled a gorgeous engagement ring from his shorts and said “all I need is you”
First thing I booked:
Photographer! I looked at different photographers online photos. I saw Carols website and made an appointment. After seeing her work
we immediately booked them.
My best wedding decision:
choosing carol and Jimmy to be our photographers
Planning procedure that caused the most stress:
invitations. Getting addresses is like pulling teeth.
Favourite part of the day:
The ceremony was the favourite part of the day.
My best advice:
Don’t allow any decisions to cause an argument. Compromise. Chad and I did not have one argument about the wedding because of this!
What I would have done differently:
I would have budgeted better. The small things add up. Choose what is most important and spend the most on that.
The wedding picture that means the most:
Oh my gosh that’s a tough one. I love the photo of our first dance with our son. I love the photo of us leaning against my grandpas 100 year old black Model T, my bridal party walking down the street. I loved them all!!
Here’s a little peak from their wedding day……
I hope you enjoyed Kellie advice and photos, Give us a call to chat about your wedding.

Their Story from the Blog post here: http://carolsphotography.net/blog/regina-wedding-photographer-outdoor-wedding-at-asessippi-old-town-site/
Kellie and Chad met in Clear lake in the late summer of 2013. Chad was there for a golf tournament and Kellie was there on a camping trip with friends from school. The girls were on their way to go dancing at Southgate bar in Onanole when a friend hurt her foot. The girls came into the campsite that Chad and his friends were staying at to get a band aid. Chad rushed to get one for the girls knocking over friends in order to return first. The girls were grateful and invited the guys to go dancing. After a staggeringly long wait at the door to get in, the group spent the night on the dance floor. It wasn’t until later in the night that Chad worked up the nerve to talk to Kellie. He wasn’t sure but there was a driving force deep within him to find out more about Kellie. The two danced together until closing time. On the ride back to the camp grounds, Kellie spent time finding out more about Chad from his friends. They all sat around the fire in the camp ground, that Chad helped build, and got to know each other a little bit.
The next day Kellie texted Chad using the business card he gave her the night before. They continued to speak throughout the week and decided to meet in Brandon the following weekend. They watched movies and went for a midnight drive to see the stars. Chad had no idea where he was going but it didn’t matter, he had found a girl who truly sparked his interest and made him feel alive. They spent another weekend together and decided to see each other exclusively. Chad was very quick to show his new girl off to his friends and family because he knew this girl was the one.
They have been inseparable ever since.
Chad purposed on August 8th 2014 while we were spending the afternoon at Good Spirit beach swimming and listening to music. We were at the Jay Z and Beyonce concert a few months back and love their music. At the lake when their song ’03 Bonnie and Clyde came on with the lyrics “All I need in this life of sin is me and my girlfriend” played he got down on one knee and said “All I need in this life is you. Will you marry me?” He then pulled out a gorgeous engagement ring he had tied in the pocket of his swimming trunks and slipped it on my finger after I said “yes, of course” with happy tears running down my face.
